Apple chutney
Chutney is part and parcel of Indian cuisine. A spicy combination of sweet fruit, onions, raisins and delicious spices. And the great thing is that they keep well in the fridge for at least a month.

Ingrediënten
- 600 g apples, we like to use sour apples for this
- 2 big white onions
- 100 g raisins
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 sprigs thyme
- 4 cm ginger root, finely sliced or grated
- 2 cloves
- 1 teaspoon aniseed
- 100 ml apple vinegar
- 100 ml water
Instructies
- Peel the apples and cut into firm pieces. Peel the onions and cut them into pieces as well.
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil.
- Simmer gently for 45 minutes. Let cool and transfer to a clean glass jar.
