Sesame seed crackers

Since our chia seed crackers, we don't like the crackers we bought in the store anymore. So we went looking for other seeds that you can use to bake tasty and healthy crackers. And found these sesame seed crackers with tahini paste. They will keep for at least a week in a biscuit tin, but we think they will be gone sooner.

Course: Side Dish, Snack
Keyword: crackers, sesame seeds, tahini

Ingrediënten

  • 100 g sesame seeds
  • 100 g tahini paste
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cucharadita baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt (every tahini has their own salt level so better taste the dough before you bake it)

Instructies

  • Keep 4 tablespoons of sesame seeds separate.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients together and mix until well combined.
  • Taste the dough to see if it contains enough salt. Add a bit if needed.
  • Preheat the oven at 170 degrees.
  • Place the dough between two sheets of baking paper and roll it out thinly with a rolling pin or an empty bottle. As you can see in the pictures, we didn't really roll them out thinly, we'll do that better next time.
  • Now spread the sesame seeds you have left over, over the plate of dough. Roll over the plate once more.
  • Now cut the dough in the size you want your crackers to be. They are much less likely to break when cut before baking.
  • Bake the crackers in the oven for between 10-20 minutes. When the edges start to curl, the crackers are ready.
