Salad with stewed pear and walnuts. Stew the pears in red wine, roast the walnuts in balsamic vinegar. Mix with salad, red onion and aged cheese and enjoy!

Salad with stewed pear and walnuts

Stewed pear is also delicious in a fresh summer salad. Combined with roasted walnuts in a balsamic dressing, old Gouda cheese is delicious.

Ingrediënten

Stoofpeertjes

  • 2 pears
  • 1/2 bottle red wine
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 2 cloves
  • 100 gr sugar
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 2 orange wedges

Salade

  • 200 gr ensalad or spinach
  • 50 gr Cheddar or Old Gouda Cheese
  • 1 red onion
  • 50 gr walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic
  • olive oil, pepper, salt

Instructies

Stewed pears

  • Mix the wine with all the dry ingredients and bring to a boil. Stir well until all sugar has dissolved.
  • Peel the pears.
  • Add the pears to the wine mixture and simmer gently for at least 30 minutes. The longer you leave the pears in the mixture, the redder they will become.

Salad

  • Mix the walnuts with the balsamic vinegar and roast in a dry frying pan for a few minutes.
  • Cut the red onion into very fine strips and the cheese into small cubes
  • Mix the washed lettuce or spinach with the walnuts, onion and cheese.
  • Add the still warm stewed pears.
