Ingrediënten
Gingerbread buttons
- 200 gr all-purpose flour
- 100 gr brown sugar
- 125 gr (vegetable) butter
- 1 tbsp (vegetable) milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp gingerbread spices
- 1 pinch of salt
Gingerbread spices
- 5 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp cardamom (seeds or powder, not whole pods)
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp aniseed
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
Instructies
Gingerbread spices
- Mix the spices and crush in a mortar if not everything has already been ground.
- Put it in a jar and you have a stock because you will bake these gingerbread cookies more often.
Gingerbread buttons
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt and brown sugar together.
- Cut the butter into pieces and add to the mixture (do not melt).
- When the butter is well incorporated, add the milk and the gingerbread spices.
- Mix until it is one ball. Wrap the ball in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- Now preheat the oven to 175 degrees.
- Then make balls (I weighed them at 4 grams each) and place them on a baking tray with baking paper. You don't have to press them flat, because that happens automatically during baking.
- Bake the gingerbread buttons for about 15 minutes.
