Apparatuur
- 1 iron colander
- 1 pan that fits an iron colander
Ingrediënten
Smoked vegan bacon
- 50 gr soy chunks, we used the smallest size
- 4 eetlepels Marmite or salty soy sauce
- 80 ml water
- 2 tsp spicy paprika powder
- 1,5 table spoons olive oil
To Smoke
- 1 handfull wood chips
Instructies
- Mix the soy sauce (or the Marmite) with the water, stir well.
- Add the soy chunks and stir well. Let stand for 10 minutes so that most of the liquid has been absorbed into the chunks.
- Take a pan with a thick bottom. Cover the bottom with a piece of aluminum foil. Add a handful of wood chips.
- Drain the excess moisture (if any) from the soya chunks. Sprinkle the chunks with the paprika and stir well.
- Now put the soya chunks in the iron colander and place it in the pan with the wood chips. Put the lid on the pan. The pan should now be completely closed. Place the pan on a high heat. The wood chips will start smoking within a few minutes and the smoke will penetrate into the soy chunks. Turn off the heat after 10 minutes.
- Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and add as many soy chunks as you like. Bake until crispy over high heat. After a few minutes your soy bacon is ready!!
