Super simple vegetable packages for the BBQ

How to barbecue with vegetables: very easy! Make a package out of aluminum foil. Cut the vegetables of your choice, add herbs, pepper, salt and a small splash of liquid. Close the package and let the vegetables steam on the barbecue.

Ingrediënten

Mexican package

  • 1 red onion
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 yellow or green pepper
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 1 can corn
  • 1 tsp coriander seed
  • 1 tsp cumin seed
  • olive oil
  • pepper and salt

French package

  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 eggplant
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary (or tablespoon dried)

Asian package

  • 1 tbsp ginger root
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 1 carrot
  • 100 gr green beans
  • 50 gr bean sprouts
  • 100 gr chestnut mushrooms
  • 100 gr white cabbage
  • 2 tbsp Ketjap Manis

Instructies

How do you make the packages?

  • Cut the vegetables very small and make a plate for each type of package: Mexican, French, Asian.
  • Take a piece of aluminum foil, choose the package you want to make and spoon the corresponding ingredients on it.
  • Add spices, pepper, salt and a tablespoon of water.
  • Close the package to allow the vegetables to steam.
  • When the vegetables are cooked (within 10 minutes), remove the package from the barbecue. Be careful when opening, the water can be very hot!

Tasty combinations

  • Serve the Mexican parcel with a tortilla and guacamole.
  • Serve the French parcel with baguette and herb butter.
  • Serve the Asian package with Seitan satay and peanut sauce.
