Chickpea Hummus

We made this hummus from chickpeas, tahini and a number of seasonings.


Hummus is a spread of chickpeas, tahini (sesame paste), lemon juice. This is the basic recipe. Once you have made this once, you can start to vary to your heart's content. Also delicious with dried tomatoes through it, for example

  • 1 can chickpeas 400 g
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sumak (optional)
  • olive oil (optional)
  • salt and pepper



  • Drain the chickpeas, keep the moisture separate.
  • Put the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper in the blender and blend until the hummus is completely smooth. Does the hummus stay too dry? Then add a little of the retained moisture. Taste and add some pepper, salt and / or lemon juice.
  • Sprinkle a little olive oil and/or sumac over it after serving.
  • Tip: also very tasty with a number of sun-dried tomatoes through it.
