Chocolate Christmas cake
For this cake you actually use "normal" cake batter. But you can also make a Christmas cake out of it. Something different and it looks very nice on the Christmas coffee table.

Ingrediënten
Cake
- 125 gr all-purpose-flour
- 125 gr sugar
- 125 gr butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
Chocolate addition
- 100 gr dark chocolate
- 30 gr cocoa powder
- 30 gr sugar
- 50 ml milk
Topping
- 150 gr melting chocolate
- 25 gr white chocolate
Instructies
Chocolate cake
- Preheat the oven to 160 degrees.
- Grease the baking tin and cover the bottom with baking paper. Place the sugar, butter, vanilla extract and salt in a bowl and mix until smooth.
- Then add the eggs one by one. You only add the next egg when the previous one is completely incorporated.
- Then fold in the flour and baking powder.
- Mix the cocoa with the sugar and the milk and mix into the cake batter.
- Spoon the dough into the baking tin and make sure it is smooth and evenly distributed.
- Bake in the oven for about 60 minutes. Insert a skewer to check if the cake is done. If the skewer comes out clean, the cake is ready.
- Let the cake cool completely.
Topping
- Melt the chocolate in a bain marie. Pour the now liquid chocolate over the cake. Smooth with a spatula if necessary.
- Then melt the white chocolate and draw some stripes over the cake. By pulling a skewer through the lines you get a nice pattern.
- You can possibly make figures on a piece of baking paper with the remaining white chocolate and when it is hard, carefully place them on the cake.
