Crumble apple pie

This recipe for crumble apple pie has been in the family of one of the Helen's for years. And still it is current and a hit.

Apparatuur

  • 1 24 cm diameter springform pan

Ingrediënten

  • 350 gr all-purpose flour
  • 250 gr butter
  • 250 gr sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar
  • 4 Granny Smith or other sour apples
  • 75 gr sultanas
  • cinnamon

Instructies

  • Preheat the oven to 190 degrees.
  • Grease the springform pan and line it with baking paper.
  • Mix the butter, sugar and egg until smooth.
  • Add the vanilla sugar and baking powder and mix in.
  • Now add the flour and mix for 7 counts! If you mix longer, it will become solid and you won't have crumbs.
  • Peel and slice the apples.
  • Cover the bottom of the mould with half the crumble topping.
  • Place the slices on the crumbly pastry. Sprinkle the sultanas on top and then cinnamon to taste.
  • Put the rest of the crumble in the mould and spread well over the apples.
  • Bake the cake for about 45 minutes. Depending on your oven. When the cake is nice and golden brown, it is ready.
